Uploading paperwork
Uploading right-to-work paperwork: which files you can upload, how big they can be, how they're protected and who can see them.
What to upload
- A copy of the document you saw, for a manual check
- The result page saved as a PDF, for an online check
- The provider's report, for an identity service provider check
The rules for files
- PDF, JPG or PNG only.
- Up to 10 MB each. You can upload several at once.
- RotaProof checks each file really is the type it says. A file that's just been renamed to end in .pdf will be turned away.
Taking a photo with your phone? Get the whole page in, make sure it's in focus, and avoid glare from lights.
Adding files later
Open the worker's page. Under the check, click Choose files, pick your files, then click Upload.
Who can see them
Only people logged in to your company's account. Files are never public. Each one is fingerprinted when it's uploaded so you can later show it hasn't been changed.
Uploaded files can't be deleted one at a time, because they're part of your record. They're only deleted with the whole worker (see how).
This guide explains how to use RotaProof. It isn't legal advice. For the rules themselves, the Home Office's employer's guide to right to work checks is the final word.
